Funny you mention Kendal and snuff.. Spent the evening in the Olde Dungeon Ghyl Hotel bar years back. They had a huge snuff collection behind the bar. Tried a couple (one an aniseed snuff). Nice enough but climbing Bowfell the next morning in the snow, my hankerchief ended up bit of a mess.. Stayed (camped) many many times in Langdale.
